Migraine Clues - Is This a Migraine or a Headache?

Migraine-Clues-200Am I having a Migraine or a Headache? Ever ask yourself that question? For me, that question usually comes up a couple of times a month.

It's entirely possible to have more than one Headache disorder. In fact, it's pretty common. In fact, the World Health Organization and International Headache Society estimate tat up to 80% of the world's population experience tension-type Headaches.

One reason we need to be able to tell if we're having a Migraine or a Headache is that they're treated differently, and Migraine respond best to treatment when it's used as early in the Migraine attack as possible.

For advice about how to tell a Migraine from a Headache, I turned to Dr. Richard Lipton, Director of the Montefiore Headache Center. Thanks to assistance from Erica and Jens from Remedy Health Media and the HealthCentral Network, I have a video of his comments to share with you. You can find it in How to Tell a Migraine from a Headache - VIDEO.

This is the first in a new series of posts called, "Migraine Clues," intended to share information that offers "clues" about living well despite Migraines and Headaches. I hope you enjoy them!

Live well,
